Small Changes Lead to Big Change

Start. Do one thing today . . .
It doesn't have to start with everything.
I like to remind my clients that everyday we have the opportunity to start again. To me this is important because to start something can be the hardest part. If we simplify this action into our everyday practice rather than building it up into something too large to tackle we can make it more attainable. This message to ourselves can look like this:
Today, I will start releasing my fear of starting something new.
Today, I will start listening to my body.
Today, I will start walking.
Today, I will start running.
Today, I will start a meditation practice.
Today, I will start to pay attention to my breath.
This may sound simple, but this is exactly the point. When building new habits or letting go of old ones that no longer serve us, we have to start small. Starting small can lead us to more attainable life changing habits.
