I keep coming back to this beautiful (and confronting , lots of belly breathing folks) release that Bre introduced to me in her Vinyasa class. (Check out her live classes and recordings here.) So much of our lives these days are spent slumped in front of the computer or with our neck curled over our mobile devices. We also hold so much tension in our necks, backs and shoulders. When I can't get to the chiropractor to work that tension out of the base of my skull, I will turn to the setup above to release that tension, include headaches. It reminded me of when my BF's mom used to do a manual release on those same pressure points in high school whenever we had headaches. You can't see it but I am laughing at myself that I find comfort in that memory to get me through the discomfort of this pose. You will fully understand when you try this!
